The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing in minor clinical procedures to keep clinic running smoothly. The main duties will be assisting with a COVID-19 testing team.
Prepare clients for treatment procedures or examinations.
Will be a team member on a COVID-19 testing team helping with colllection, testing and educating patients around COVID-19.
Obtain pertinent information regarding visit, takes vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure) and record in medical chart, and takes urine sample when indicated.
Perform or prepare for procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and hearing or vision tests.
Perform CLIA-waived laboratory tests, such as urinalysis, urine HGB or HCG, rapid strep, blood glucose and COVID-19 Rapid Testing.
Maintain stock supplies for clinic exam rooms.
Clean examination rooms after each use and prepare room for next client,
Order supplies and vaccines.
Make all referral appointments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Medical Assistant in the State of Texas.
Certification as a Medical Assistant.
Must have CPR certification annually.
Ability to maintain professional bounderies with clients, the community, and other staff members.
Work collaboratively with clients, Chief Kina Health Clinic staff, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times.
Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check.
Must be able to pass drug test.
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
