The Tribal Administrator is directly responsible for the overall management and administration of tribal programs, supervision of program directors, and the leadership of all administrative staff. The Tribal Administrator is hired by and reports directly to the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas’ Tribal Council. |

Job Duties: Manages and provides daily oversight to designated Tribal program directors Ensures the Tribe develops, implements and maintains all control systems required by law or regulation and those prudent to the efficient operation of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas Responsible for preparation, recommendations, review and implementation of all Tribal annual budgets in collaboration with the Tribal Council Treasurer and Accounting/Finance Director Participates in the development of short and long term strategic plans for the Tribe, in conjunction with the program directors and the Tribal Council Responsible for the implementation of Tribal Council directives that are relevant to Tribal programs and operations. Facilitate teamwork, identify and solve issues, and ensure clear communications with all staff employees within all program areas Consults with appropriate agencies in planning for new construction of Tribal facilities as necessary Awareness of federal and state legislation as it affects the Tribal organization and its programs Confers with staff and other on various operations, planning, financial and administrative matters Reviews contracts, ordinances, code, resolutions, plans, reports, programs and procedures and provides directives/recommendations Ensures that ALL staff carries out directives and policies of the Tribal Council Exemplifies and communicates to those that are employed by the Tribe and those outside of the Tribe the desired culture, philosophies and goal of the Tribe Work effectively and efficiently with the Tribal Council, community members and employees |

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Operations Management or directly related field from an accredited college or university Vast knowledge of Tribal government Eight (8) or more years’ experience in Tribal Governance and Ten (10) or more years in senior or executive leadership Strong written and verbal communication skills; clear, articulate and compassionate when communicating with others Experience with Native American communities Travel as necessary to meet the demands of the Tribe Must be able to pass a background check and drug test |
